TXSF - Il Roster è stato deciso

Believe it or not... Tekken X Street Fighter was originally announced 5 years ago at San Diego Comic-con. Since then, the game's development has been a well kept secret by Bandai Namco, even leading some to believe the project was cancelled. For the 17th official time, producer Harada has confirmed TXSF is still a thing. When asked about TXSF's progress this weekend at SDCC '15, he told Famitsu that TXSF is actually "at a far stage into its development."

Bandai Namco's internal development team has certainly been busy with many other titles as of late, including: TEKKEN 7, Pokken Tournament, and the PS4 Project Morpheus title, Summer Lesson. Some might suspect that Namco is simply too busy to work on TXSF... but Harada reassured Famitsu this isn't the case.

"It might seem like we haven't started on it at all, but the character lineup has been decided upon since a very long time ago," Harada continued, "we've already finished the polygon models, moves, and systems."

Harada goes on to explain that the "timing" of TXSF's eventual release is the tricky part... thus, the team hasn't decided how or when to reveal anything further. "Another reason is that SF X Tekken has already been announced, developed and released. So just doing this normally, and trying to sell it as a special crossover, isn't going to catch any interest." Harada continues, "We need some sort of surprise, right? I can't really say how we're aiming to surprise fans right now, but we've been playing around with many different ideas."

Harada also stated that he and his team are even considering "changing the name of the game" since it's been so long since the original announcement.
